WIC Bible Studies

BACK TO WOMEN'S HOME PAGE

There are currently three Bible Studies being offered.
Childcare is provided on Tuesday mornings.

In addition to these Bible studies, there is a women’s Sunday School class:
the Esther Class.  All women are welcome.

 2010 Mon Study

If you are interested in a home-based Bible study to start the New Year off right, please join us at the home of Sarah Turbeville, at 201 Aspen Court in Hillcreek Subdivision, starting Monday, January 11, at 10:00 a.m.  We will be doing the study, Your Life as a Beautiful Offering, by Angela Thomas.  We will begin each of our 6 sessions with a 20 minute video lecture, followed by a group discussion of the previous week's homework, and ending each session promptly at 11:30 a.m.  The homework is light and the material is applicable to women of ALL ages, so please make plans to join us by contacting the church office.

2010 Tues Study A

And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.  Luke 24:27

The text for this study will be the Bible and The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name by Sally Lloyd-Jones. In this class, we will see that the Bible is a message of our need for a Savior and how God has graciously met that need. We will study selected passages from Genesis to Revelation to see that every passage in Scripture points to Christ.

It may seem strange that one of our texts is a book written for children but like many have already discovered, you will see that this book can give you a richer, fuller understanding of God and His Word. Westminster Theological Seminary calls it a “theological masterpiece” and Dr. Timothy Keller writes, “I would urge not just families with young children to get this book, but every Christian – Sally Lloyd-Jones has captured the heart of what it means to find Christ in all the Scriptures.”

Join us in this study and increase your understanding of the Scriptures and your intimacy with Jesus Christ. In this study, may the Spirit work in our hearts and may we be like the men who walked the road to Emmaus with Jesus. For more information, contact Wendy Kelley (803-732-2273 ext.102 or wendy@sapc.net).

2010 Tues Study B

Are you sometimes overwhelmed when approaching the Scriptures? Would you like to learn some tools to help understand things better? We hope to offer tools to help us better understand and apply God’s Book to every aspect of our lives as His children. The study's chief purpose is to introduce methods for “rightly dividing the word of truth” so that we develop skills in its use to this end: to display God as GREAT so that we may walk before him in a manner worthy of our calling.

TEXT: Understanding and Applying Your Bible, Robertson McQuilkin. (A bibliography will be offered.) Small amount of homework questions as well as limited reading from sections of the text.
