I grew up attending church all of my life. However, it wasn’t until I was 24 years old that I understood the gospel and my relationship with the Lord became personal. I immediately had a burning desire to study God’s Word, to connect with other believers and to serve. Most of my ministries have been in the local church: teaching and leading Bible studies and leading and training other women to lead. I also served in leadership roles for women on the Presbytery level and have spoken at women’s retreats and special events throughout the Southeast. However, my heart has been in local church ministry where my connections are with the women I know personally.
My husband, Chip, and I have been married for 47 years. I actively served alongside him wherever he served as a pastor supporting him in his work. We have three children: Fran, Bryan and Grace. Fran is married to Joey Parsons, and they have four children and live in Colorado. Bryan is married to Cat (Brewer), and they have two boys and live in Summerville. Grace lives in Tucson, AZ, and loves living out west.
One of my favorite verses is “Blessed is she who has believed that what God has said to her will be accomplished.” (Luke 1:45) By His grace, I am able to have faith in these words from Psalm 16, “I have set the Lord continually before me, because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Those words are words of truth and give me great joy and strength.
