The Gospel of Jesus Christ

Have you come to the point in your life where you know for CERTAIN that if you were to die tonight, you would go to Heaven? Suppose you were to die tonight and stand before God and He was to say to you, “Why should I let you into My Heaven?” What would you say to Him? The Bible teaches that one can know for certain if they have eternal life. “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” – I John 5:13
  1. GRACE
    1. Heaven is a free gift.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23
    2. It’s not earned or deserved.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– not by works, so that no one can boast.” – Ephesians 2:8,9
  2. MAN
    1. Is a sinner.
“…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23
“Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” – Matthew 5:48
    2. Cannot save himself.
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” – Proverbs 14:12
  3. GOD
    1. Is loving.
“The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.” – Jeremiah 31:3b
    2. Is just.
“Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.” – Exodus 34:7
  4. CHRIST
    1. Who He is – Fully God and fully man.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” John 1:1
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” – John 1:14
“Thomas said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!'” – John 20:28
    2. What He did – Died on the cross to save us from our sin.
  5. FAITH – Key to Heaven
    1. What it is not
      1. Mere intellectual assent
Even the Devil knows that God exists – “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that–and shudder.” – James 2:19
      2. Mere temporary faith – When there is trouble or sickness or danger
    2. What it is
      1. Trusting Jesus Christ alone for your eternal life.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” – Ephesians 2:8
“They replied, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.'” – Acts 16:31

Prayer to receive Christ-Dear Father, I know I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that Christ died for my sin on the cross. I now invite Jesus to come into my heart and life as my personal Savior. I am willing, by God’s grace, to follow and obey Christ as the Lord of my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
