We are about a third of the way through our 5th year of classes in STBE, a national program where students from the public school system leave school property to be taught the Bible. Our church is in an ideal location being directly across the street from Crossroads Middle School. Approximately 75 sixth graders come to St. Andrews 2-3times a week and receive school credit for learning about God's Word.

Teaching this year are Teena Salter of Grace Point Presbyterian Church who created and teaches the outstanding curriculum we continue to use, Wayne Stoner of Union Methodist Church, Donna Beam of Riverland Hills Church, Robbie Muncatchy and myself. We also have 29 indispensable aides from all four churches who help set up the classrooms, assist the students and teachers during class time, and walk the students back and forth between the school and St. Andrews multiple times a day.

Last year was the first of my involvement in this program. I attended as many classes as I could, listening intently as the teachers presented their material and interacted with the students, assisting where I could as an aide, and being awed by the God-given opportunity we have to teach His Word to some of the students in this community. Teena and Robbie saw to it that I received everything available to help me in understanding both the material and their vision for this ministry. I was irreversibly "hooked" from then on. It had been 10 years since I had taught in youth groups and I wasn't sure I could do it. However, with God's help and the encouragement from Hope Craver - the driving force behind this ministry - Teena, and Robbie, I am week by week working my way through the curriculum and prayerfully, imparting both an understanding of God's Word and His promise of redemption, and an enthusiasm for both.

Please be in prayer for all involved in this ministry and for the students who are in various stages regarding their knowledge of the Bible. We are so grateful to God for giving us this opportunity to serve Him, and to you for the moral and prayer support you give.

Pack 803
St. Andrews Presbyterian Church

Cub Scouts are for boys first through fifth grades and their families to have fun and adventure in a program that builds character and develops skills for life as well as duty to God and Country. The spirit of Cub Scouting embraces the values of citizenship, compassion, cooperation, courage, faith, health and fitness, honesty, perseverance, positive attitude, resourcefulness, respect, and responsibility.

Scouting is a perfect opportunity for parents to build a closer relationship with their son. As parents and leaders it is amazing how much we can learn from watching and teaching our boys.  At 803, we embrace the Cub Scout motto which is “Do Your Best”.
