ing Will Be Taken

Christmas has always been special at St. Andrews. This year’s celebration is enhanced with the addition of our friends, Tim Zimmerman and the King’s Brass. Back for their third appearance in the Palmetto Artist Series, they will be joined by SAPC’s 70-voice choir for a Christmas celebration to remember. Tim Zimmerman and The King's Brass perform over one hundred concerts each season with three trumpets, three trombones, a tuba, keyboards, and percussion. Playing a wide variety of music, the King's Brass uses all corners of the concert hall to lift hearts and spirits in praise. This will be a not-to-be-missed Christmas event!  A nursery will be available for children 5 and under.

, $12 each

One of the most thoughtful, poetic, and lyrical songwriters of his generation, Andrew Peterson offers his vocal and guitar skills to our community. An author as well as a musician, he reminds us again and again of simple, solid things like love, friendship, hope, redemption, and beauty; how our stories were meant to be shared; and how the darkness will not always hold sway. With an evident love for Christ, Andrew Peterson uses his gifts to tell the truth, and to tell it beautifully.

 GLAD

Glad Photo #2

One of Christian music’s most enduring vocal bands for the past 30 years, GLAD brings its classical/jazz leanings and complex vocals to this season’s Artist Series. Long known for its impeccably arranged vocals, layered harmonies, and instrumental and vocal versatility, this four man ensemble brings a wide range of musical genres—including hymns and original tunes—to our stage in a primarily a cappella concert. You’ll have no regrets about attending this event!

One may ask: Why would a church host a Concert Series, and especially with music that is not considered sacred?  There was a time in history when the church was the center of music and arts in society.  That historic role fits with our worldview here at St. Andrews.

We agree with Abraham Kuyper who declared, “There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is sovereign over all, does not cry ‘Mine!’”  That statement has huge implications for all of life, but certainly no smaller implication for music and the arts.

So, we celebrate the talents and creativity of men and women and believe that God, their Creator, is glorified when they make use of them.  We desire to provide opportunity for local and national talent to perform in this venue.  It is our pleasure to present to you, our community, this series of concerts, for your enjoyment and enrichment.
