Wednightyouth

This semester we are taking a look at what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. We are looking at some of the differences between someone who is a tourist in their faith vs. a pioneer. A tourist approach to the Christian life is one who visits church, takes a few pictures, gets a sweet T-shirt but in the end has a shallow faith. Our society has inundated us with quick fixes like "movies on demand" and "instant mac-n-cheese" and it has spilled over into our spiritual lives.  So we are challenging students to have a pioneer approach to the long-haul journey that is the Christian faith.  Like Lewis and Clark, their journey may be filled with some tough challenges, but it will also be full of adventure, unspeakable joy, and the fortitude to stay the course.

Here is the list of some foundational spiritual "supplies" they will need along on this journey.

Helping teens know Christ,
love Him more,
and serve Him better.

The Youth Ministry is designed to reach students (both in the church and outside of it), their friends and families and the community; to connect them with other Christians; to help them grow in their faith; and to challenge them to discover their ministry and honor God with their lives. A key verse that God has laid on my heart for this youth group has been Mark 12:30.”Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.” We strive to instill this core verse in the lives of our teens here at St Andrews. This ties into our vision as church to help people joyfully know Jesus Christ, love Him more, and serve him better.
